Overview

ob Title: Dental Nurse Reports to: Practice Manager / Principal Dentist Contract Type: Fixed-term (Maternity Cover) Hours: [8-9 hours per day]

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside support to dentists, hygienists, and therapists.
• Prepare instruments, materials, and equipment for dental procedures.
• Maintain infection control standards and adhere to HTM 01-05 guidance.
• Support and reassure patients throughout their treatment.
• Keep accurate clinical records as directed by the clinician.
• Take and process digital X-rays as required.
• Ensure surgery is clean, well-stocked, and fully prepared.
• Assist with reception duties when needed, including booking appointments and processing payments.
• Participate in team meetings, CPD, and training to maintain knowledge and compliance with GDC and CQC standards.

Essential Requirements

• GDC-registered Dental Nurse qualification.
• Knowledge of dental procedures and cross-infection control.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy clinical environment.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Familiarity with practice software (such as Dentally and iComply).
• Additional qualifications such as radiography, sedation, or implant nursing.
