Job summary

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a full time position within our Decontamination Services Team.

Working hours are as follows: Monday to Friday - 8am-4pm

Please note, this positions will be part of the Saturday rota working 1 in 4, hours are 8am to 1pm and Bank Holiday rota working 8am to 12pm.

Main duties of the job

To undertake decontamination services duties and assist in providing a specialised decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient

Record all tasks on the Health Edge computerised traceability systems

Work in accordance with the department's work instructions and Quality Management systems.

To provide supervision to Apprentice Decontamination Technicians within the team.

Plan own workload with limited supervision

The role involves exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent knowledge / or GSCE English, Maths at Grade C or above
  • Basic Microbiology knowledge
Experience/Knowledge
  • Proven experience of working within a Healthcare/manufacturing environment
  • Experience of customer relations and dealing with a diverse customer base both face to face and over the telephone
  • Experience of working in a team but also able to work on own initiative
  • Healthcare/industry experience in health and safety and hygiene
  • Working within a Quality system and standard operating procedures
  • Knowledge and experience in the decontamination of reusable medical devices
