About the role

The Deals Tax Management Team Advisory Group is a specialist tax team that advises on the tax and commercial issues in relation to the design, implementation and operation of management and employee incentives, either on the sale or acquisition of a business or when new incentives are required.

Our clients are predominantly either top and mid‑tier investors in the Private Equity ("PE") market or the board level C‑suite of PE backed portfolio companies.

What your days will look like
  • Taking the lead on projects (which typically involve both UK and global tax advice) prior to, during or post transaction, which may include:
  • advising management / PE investors on the implementation of a MIP during and post transaction, equity resets, joiners / leavers events mid cycle,
  • preparation for an exit such as a sale to a new PE investor / trade buyer or float process, and tax due diligence.
  • Working with a team on demanding, fast‑paced projects with the support of junior and senior colleagues to deliver bespoke technical advice, communicating complex issues in an effective and efficient way and encouraging coaching within the team.
  • Leading the development of relationships with clients, internal markets, key external intermediaries and junior members of the team.
  • Leading and initiating business development activities, helping to identify and research opportunities with new and existing clients, including helping with proposals and attending networking events.
This role is for you if you have
  • Must possess an ACA / CTA Qualification (or an international equivalent) or have equivalent work experience. This includes international candidates who qualify through experience in their home country.
  • Strong knowledge of management incentive plans in particular plans implemented in the PE industry.
  • Experience and enjoyment of working in a Deals environment.
  • Strong communication skills, specifically in negotiating with and influencing others.
  • Strong analytical, project management and report writing skills.
  • An inquisitive mind and ability to solve problems as part of a diverse team.
