Overview

The Company I’m representing a leading Solar IPP that’s delivering some of the largest and most impactful solar projects in the UK. They’re seeking a Project Development Manager to take flagship projects through the DCO (Development Consent Order) planning process for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs).This is a senior, high-impact role where you’ll be driving the planning journey for utility-scale solar farms from the point where land rights are secured - Heads of Terms and Options agreed - through to successful consent.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage large-scale solar projects through the full DCO planning process.
  • Oversee all technical, environmental, and planning workstreams required for NSIP applications.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams including planning consultants, environmental specialists, and legal advisors.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement and public consultation programmes.
  • Maintain programme, budget, and risk oversight for your projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant UK planning and environmental legislation.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record of taking infrastructure or renewable energy projects through the UK planning process - experience of the DCO process desirable but not a necessity.
  • Strong understanding of NSIP planning requirements, environmental impact assessment (EIA), and stakeholder management.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams and external consultants.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Passion for delivering clean energy at scale.
