Who are we?

We want to be the best place that any of our 6,600 colleagues have ever worked.

We’re Phoenix Group, we’re a long-term savings and retirement business. We offer a range of products across our market‑leading brands, Standard Life, SunLife, Phoenix Life and ReAssure. Around 1 in 5 people in the UK has a pension with us. We’re a FTSE 100 organisation that is tackling key issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050, and we’re not done yet.

The role

As a Data Security Support Analyst, you’ll provide first‑line operational support for Phoenix Group’s Data Loss Prevention (DLP) service. You’ll be the first point of contact for alerts and incidents, performing triage, initial investigation, and escalation where required. Working closely with Data Security Engineers and Senior Engineers, you’ll help maintain a secure environment and ensure timely response to data security events.

This is an excellent opportunity for those starting their career in cybersecurity or looking to move into data security operations. Full training will be provided, but you’ll need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor DLP alerts across Microsoft Purview and related platforms.
  • Perform L1 triage: validate alerts, gather context, and escalate to engineers when needed.
  • Document incidents accurately for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Support routine operational tasks such as policy checks, reporting, and basic configuration under guidance.
  • Assist with user queries related to data security policies and processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and suggesting enhancements.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and training sessions to build technical capability.
What are we looking for?
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in cybersecurity and data protection with willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) – technical training will be provided.
  • Excellent communication skills for clear incident documentation and stakeholder interaction.
  • Exposure to security concepts or recognised frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, or ISF Standard of Good Practice).
  • Basic understanding of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) or similar technologies.

We want to hire the whole version of you.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.
