The Role

You will play a critical role in maintaining and optimising the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring a secure and stable environment for both internal systems and remote customer platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Building, maintaining, and performance-tuning databases (Microsoft MSSQL, MySQL) that operate 24/7.
• Implementing and managing high availability and replication solutions (Availability Groups, Galera Clusters) to ensure continuous operation.
• Monitoring and managing backups and disaster recovery plans.
• Configuring and maintaining firewall, networking, and VPN solutions.
• Working with virtualisation technologies (vCenter, vSphere).
• Occasional foreign travel to customer sites.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate will be pragmatic, organised and a clear communicator, as this role will involve occasional customer-facing interactions. You will have a broad knowledge base, an eagerness to learn, and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.

Essential Skills

• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including Availability Groups and Replication.
• Proven experience with MySQL, particularly Galera Clusters.
• Expertise in database design and performance tuning.

Desirable Skills

• Ability to document methods and procedures.
