Job summary

A leading ag-tech company in the UK is looking for a software developer to join their Data Office. You will be part of an international team responsible for building and maintaining a self-service analytics platform using GCP. This role involves working with Python, SQL, and modern DevOps practices. Qualifications

  • Experience in designing, developing, documenting, and maintaining software written in Python and/or Java.

The team is building the foundation of Kramp's self-service analytics platform in Google Cloud Platform-based data warehouse (DWH). Feeding different targets as:

  • Data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
  • Kramp's Machine Learning platform
What to expect

The Data Office is international, and cross-functional team, combining Business Intelligence, DevOps, FinOps, Data Science, and Software Development;

Working within Agile SCRUM Methodologies and the Atlassian toolchain (JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, Git);

To build our state-of-the-art cloud data warehouse, we use Python, Java, BigQuery SQL, and other Google Cloud Platform services such as Cloud Build, Data transfers, Workflows, Schedulers and Functions;

Making use of dbt Cloud, Terraform and Data Modelling Tools;

You will get deep insights into the work at an international wholesaler being in the middle of the digital transformation; you can contribute and make a real impact;

Freedom to initiate new ideas and develop these further.

What will help you be successful

Openness to engage in continuous learning and agility in addressing business challenges;

Experience in designing, developing, documenting, and maintaining software written in Python and/or Java as well as dataflows written in SQL;

Knowledge of different data modelling principles and selecting the right one depending on the needs of a consumer;

Feeling comfortable working with Linux, Git, and Docker to extend and maintain our CI/CD workflows and pipelines, or eager to dive into this topic;

Experience in working in cloud environments (preferably GCP or AWS);

Experience or knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code applications like Terraform and data transformation tools like dbt and Dataform;

Cultural awareness, sensitivity, and adaptability in building connections with people from diverse backgrounds;

Excel conceptual thinking and a proactive approach to decision-making, taking ownership to ensure project success.

Experience with Striim is an advantage.
