Join us as an Data Architect Manager

  • We’ll look to you to support the definition, development and implantation of the strategic target architecture and roadmap, aligning them with business strategy and objectives through collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and adherence to governance standards
  • You’ll be providing technical guidance, resolving architectural impediments, and championing the adoption of architecture patterns and practices
  • With valuable exposure, you’ll cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, technology teams, and external partners, to enhance understanding and support for the strategic target data architecture
  • This is a remote‑first role, so you’ll spend most of your time at home, working with your team digitally and coming into the office twice a month when you need to collaborate closely with your colleagues
What you’ll do

As a Data Architect Manager, you’ll support the architecting of customer‑centric, high‑performance, secure, robust and sustainable end‑to‑end data products, solutions, and services that deliver business value while aligning to the bank’s strategic target architecture.

You’ll be supporting the development of data architecture capability by proactively building personal capability and sharing knowledge, best practices, lessons learned, and participating in communities of practice.

As well as this, you’ll be:

  • Participating in architecture and design reviews of data architectures, while adhering to approved architecture standards and principles
  • Contributing to shaping and identifying opportunities for simplification and reuse within strategic investment programmes
  • Collaborating with business and digital leaders to evolve architectural direction, ensuring that decisions and designs are documented in accordance with organisational standards
  • Keeping up‑to‑date with emerging technologies, identifying potential opportunities and threats and raising them with the Architecture Council for further evaluation
The skills you’ll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll need extensive knowledge of data architecture frameworks, modelling with a good knowledge of the remaining architecture and data management disciplines.

You’ll bring experience of defining and developing strategic target architectures that align with organisational objectives. This will include experience of engaging with partners across the organisation to define architectures that deliver tangible business outcomes.

You’ll also demonstrate experience of:

  • Collaborative decision‑making processes, partnering with business and technology colleagues to articulate and evolve architectural direction
  • Creating business cases to influence senior stakeholders to secure investment for architecture initiatives
  • Overseeing and assuring the quality of architecture designs, with a focus on risk management and governance
  • Participating in architecture and design reviews to validate that solutions meet business needs and comply with architecture standards
  • Proven people capability development, including mentoring, supporting professional development, encouraging knowledge sharing across architecture teams and promoting data standards
