Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent - Hybrid
Start Date: ASAP

We are looking for a Cyber Security Specialist to strengthen and evolve our cyber security posture across the organisation. This is a hands‑on role responsible for cyber policies, security configuration, vulnerability management, incident response, compliance frameworks and maintaining a strong culture of staff cyber awareness. As a key member of our Business Technology Group (BTG), you’ll contribute to our cybersecurity roadmap and play a pivotal role in safeguarding our digital infrastructure.

What will your day look like…
  • Deploying and tuning security configurations including technical security policies, device management, EDR, IAM and DLP in line with evolving standards.
  • Managing security alerts and incidents, phishing attempts, quarantined emails and DLP alerts, working closely with the SOC.
  • Supporting incident response planning, running simulation exercises and ensuring recovery processes are tested and documented.
  • Supporting secure onboarding and offboarding, ensuring access to systems and devices is provisioned and removed appropriately.
  • Driving compliance with security frameworks including Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus and future adoption of CAF, NIST or ISO 27001.
  • Leading our cybersecurity awareness programme, ensuring staff have access to relevant training and developing a strong security‑first culture across IT delivery.
  • Maintaining the cyber risk register and ensuring mitigation actions are completed.
About you…
  • Strong understanding of security engineering, security analysis, security architecture, threat intelligence and incident response.
  • Familiarity with Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus and related compliance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of regulatory environments including GDPR.
  • Professional certification such as CISSP or CISM (or willingness to achieve in role).
  • Knowledge or experience of CAF, NIST, ISO 27001 or similar frameworks.
