Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming environment? We're looking for a Customer Service Coordinator to join our team and be the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors at South Tyneside College.

About the Role

As a Customer Service Coordinator, you'll provide a warm, friendly, and efficient front-of-house service. You'll handle enquiries relating to admissions and general college information, ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to excellence. This role involves:

  • Acting as the first point of contact in person, by phone, and via email.
  • Supporting admissions and enrolment processes, including maintaining accurate student records.
  • Coordinating open days, induction activities, and other events.
  • Managing reception duties such as welcoming visitors and maintaining visitor logs.
  • Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and contributing to process improvements.
Essential
  • Proven experience in delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database systems.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – with a friendly, approachable manner.
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4 or above) or equivalent, or willingness to work towards.
  • Familiarity with Management Information Systems (MIS) and accurate record-keeping.
Desirable
  • Experience in an educational environment.
  • Knowledge of admissions processes and data protection legislation.
  • Flexibility to work evenings/weekends for college events.
