Availability Window — Days and times: Sun 17:00–23:00; Mon 17:00–23:00; Tue 17:00–23:00; Wed 17:00–23:00; Thu 17:00–23:00; Fri 17:00–23:00; Sat 17:00–23:00

Customer Delivery Driver pay starts from £13.35 per hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.

New colleagues joining Tesco are offered a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12), there are opportunities available and we would love to hear from you.

The weekly availability windows listed above indicate when we would like you to be available to work. We will schedule contracted hours within these times and provide 3 weeks' notice of exact shifts. Responsibilities

You will be responsible for delivering your part of the customer shopping trip by:

  • Ensuring the van and trays are clean, tidy and organised
  • Leaving the back yard clean and rubbish-free, picking up litter as needed
  • Washing trays as part of the tray wash process
  • Loading the van as required and checking roadworthiness
  • Talking to customers about changes to orders, including substitutions, and offering refunds if unhappy
  • Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were your own
  • Explaining to customers that substitutions will not incur extra charges
  • Delivering within the customer’s time slot
  • Calling the customer before arriving if early
  • Calling the store/centre if running 30+ minutes late
What you need
  • Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and ensure the store is best for customers
  • Warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues; take time to understand the customer and say thank you
  • Act quickly to respond to changing customer needs and embrace change within the store
  • Energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations; balance home and work
  • Share ideas with your Manager and colleagues on how to improve the store for customers
  • A valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points
