A leading educational institution in Birmingham seeks a passionate leader of mathematics to improve outcomes for high prior attainers. The successful candidate will ensure high teaching standards, develop staff training, and collaborate to enhance educational practices. We are looking to appoint a leader of mathematics who is passionate about improving the aspirations and outcomes of our High Prior Attainers, including Pupil Premium students, in mathematics. The mathematics department is a highly successful one, making a significant contribution to pupil progress scores that are consistently above the national average. The successful candidate will be able to teach mathematics at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. The department also teaches further mathematics and Level 3 mathematical studies. This role requires someone who feels strongly about and is proactive at making a difference to the lives of our students by providing them with the best access to the next stage of their education.
Swanshurst is a large, outstanding school for girls aged 11-19 years. We offer excellent support and CPD for staff at all stages of their career. Ofsted (May 2024) described our school to be “an exceptional place for pupils to learn”. They described the curriculum as “exemplary” and one which "explodes into life in the classroom". In relation to staff wellbeing, they noted that “The school is conscious of staff workload and well-being and is committed to achieving excellence in a sustainable way.” We are exceptionally proud to have been judged ‘Outstanding’ in two consecutive inspections.
