What you will do
- Provide expert care to young people experiencing mental health crises, helping them remain at home as an alternative to hospital admission.
- Conduct thorough assessments of risk and create safety and care plans with young people and their families.
- Utilise clinical skills and judgement to deliver effective interventions that manage crisis periods.
- Collaborate closely with families, carers, and partner agencies to plan further interventions when necessary.
- Manage your caseload from initial contact through to discharge, ensuring a seamless care experience.
- Gain diverse knowledge from all areas of the wider CAMHS service to enrich your professional practice.
Main duties
- This role requires providing care to young people experiencing a mental health crisis within a 24-hour, 365-day service with a shift system that includes on-call duties and occasional weekends, with generous enhancements for these shifts.
- Assess risk and formulate comprehensive safety and care plans in collaboration with children, young people, and their families.
- Support young people to stay at home as an alternative to inpatient hospital admission.
- Apply exceptional clinical skills and judgement to assess individual needs and deliver suitable interventions to manage crisis situations.
- Collaborate closely with families, carers, and partner agencies to plan for any further necessary interventions.
- Work within a team while maintaining autonomous practice and manage caseloads from first contact to discharge.
- Gain valuable skills and knowledge from various areas of the wider CAMHS service.
