Job description

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Criminology Teacher to join a sixth form/secondary school team. The successful candidate will inspire students to explore crime, justice, and society while developing critical thinking and analytical skills.

Duties as a Criminology Teacher:

• Plan and deliver engaging Criminology lessons across KS4–KS5.

• Teach key topics such as crime and punishment, the criminal justice system, theories of crime, and forensic psychology links.

• Support students in developing strong research, essay-writing, and evaluation skills.

• Prepare learners for assessments and examinations in line with the curriculum.

• Create an inclusive classroom that challenges and motivates all learners.

• Contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities, guest speakers, or trips linked to criminology and law.

Ideal Criminology Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

• A degree in Criminology, Sociology, Psychology, Law, or a related subject.

• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for criminology.

• Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills as a Criminology Teacher.

• Ability to inspire students to pursue further studies or careers in criminology, law, or related fields.
