Crime Duty Solicitor – 3+ Years PQE – Blackburn

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000

Location: Blackburn, Lancashire

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Puro Associates are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a reputable and long-established law firm based in Blackburn, who are seeking a talented Crime Duty Solicitor (3+ years PQE) to join their thriving Criminal Defence department.

Role Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced criminal solicitor to take the next step in their career, managing a diverse and challenging caseload of criminal defence work. The successful candidate will represent clients at police stations, Magistrates’ and Crown Courts, delivering high-quality advice and advocacy at all stages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend police stations and Magistrates’ Courts as part of the duty rota.
  • Handle a full caseload of criminal matters from initial instruction to conclusion.
  • Provide effective representation and advocacy at all levels.
  • Prepare case files in accordance with LAA and firm standards.
  • Supervise junior staff and contribute to the continued success of the team.
Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 3 years’ PQE in criminal law.
  • Current Duty Solicitor Accreditation. (none duty also Considered)
  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and client care skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a demanding caseload independently.
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle preferred.
