An exciting opportunity has arisen within Spectrum for you to join a dynamic team committed to supporting people with drug and / or alcohol issues on their recovery journey. As a Criminal Justice recovery worker with Change Grow Live you’ll work with people who use our services helping them get to where they want to be.

The role of the Criminal Justice recovery worker will mainly support people coming through our prison link service as well as other areas of criminal justice involvement including courts and probation.

This role includes one-to-one key work delivering our group work programmes case management and interacting with partner agencies particularly prisons police probation and to ensure people accessing Spectrum can improve and change their lives.

Location: Stevenage

Full‑Time Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary Range: 27,861.26 – 32,002.35 per annum

Allowances: Outer London Fringe of 694.25 per annum

Contract: Fixed term until 31p>

  • Full‑time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part‑time roles the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
  • Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment / recovery journey.
  • Providing screening assessment and recovery planning and onward referral.
  • Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community.
  • Promoting carer, service user and community involvement.
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services.
  • Motivational Interviewing.
  • Childrens & adult safeguarding.
  • Liaison and partnership working including police probation courts prisons.
  • Substance awareness.
  • Working with service users to support social (re)integration enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery resilience peer support and self‑determination.
  • Acupuncture.
  • Equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • First aid.
About you
  • Strong understanding of substance misuse issues and / or experience of working within a similar field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with good IT skills.
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time‑management and prioritising skills.
  • Supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies and internal / external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users.
  • Understand the importance of information governance processes and commitment to follow and apply all necessary safeguards.
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others.
