Overview
An established national law firm is seeking a Credit Hire Legal Advisor to join its dynamic and growing litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified solicitor, CILEx professional, or experienced file handler to manage a caseload of litigated credit hire matters.
You'll be working with well-known insurer clients, handling complex files and playing a key part in delivering commercial, pragmatic legal advice.

Key Responsibilities
- Defend a caseload of litigated credit hire claims from inception through to resolution
- Instruct Counsel for hearings, conferences and CMCs
- Conduct telephone advocacy, including allocation hearings and case management conferences where appropriate
- Advise clients on settlement strategies and litigation risk, ensuring a commercial approach at all times
- Liaise with both insurer and lay clients to obtain timely and accurate instructions
- Keep clients informed throughout the claim lifecycle, providing high-quality and regular updates
- Engage with clients directly to build strong working relationships and ensure service continuity
- Analyse the authenticity and validity of claims through ongoing client contact
- Act as a mentor to junior colleagues and support team knowledge-sharing
- Discuss liability and quantum offers using direct communication methods to expedite progress
- Work under the supervision of team leads on complex or high-value files to broaden your legal exposure
- Effectively prioritise workloads, particularly urgent tasks and ensure efficient case progression
About You
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Qualification as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx), or significant relevant experience as a file handler
- A strong track-record managing a caseload of fast or multi-track credit hire files
- Solid understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR), relevant case law and legal principles relating to RTA liability, causation and quantum
- Experience dealing with indemnity issues, Article 75 disputes, resiling from admissions and non-party litigation where appropriate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and concise legal advice
- Confidence liaising with clients, insurers, external agencies and Counsel
- Good working knowledge of case management systems (e.g. Visual Files) and Microsoft Office
- Organised, methodical and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
