Overview

Credit Controller
Location: Verwood, Dorset
Hours: 39.5 Hours a week (Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 5pm + Friday 8:30am - 4pm)
Pay Rate: £12.21ph - £13ph (Depending on Experience)
Contract: Temporary (6 Weeks)
Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities
  • Minimise bad debt and reduce payment days through proactive telephone chasing in a high-volume environment.
  • Manage the full credit control process, including setting credit limits, reviewing held orders, and handling overdue accounts.
  • Resolve customer queries and requests efficiently to ensure a smooth payment process.
  • Where necessary, compile documentation for legal action against non-payers and complete proof of debt forms.
  • Process account applications, enter customer payments onto the ledger, and maintain clean, accurate customer accounts.
  • Utilise the internet for research to inform credit limit decisions.
  • Produce weekly and monthly debt reports for management.
Qualifications
  • A strong, confident communicator with excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritise tasks, and take ownership of problems.
  • Confident decision-maker who enjoys the challenge of debt chasing and problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Adaptable, enthusiastic, and flexible with a proactive attitude.
  • Experience in a credit control or similar finance role is highly desirable.
