Job description
Company Description

SUPERCOLLIDER is a unique part of the Zinc Media Group: it prides itself on a free-thinking, creative driven, genre-fusing approach to all of its work. Its focus is on culture - sports, arts, music, technology - which fuel exhilarating, long-form TV programmes, short form brand films and real world events designed to wow. It’s supersized a pinball machine to make the Emmy-nominated ‘Human Pinball’ campaign for RED BULL; followed a cast of major, medal-winning athletes for a year for the the epic Olympic series ‘Chasing Glory: Road to Paris 2024’; set fire to motocross riders for the launch campaigns of the LEGO STUNTZ range; produced award-winning films about artists including GILBERT & GEORGE, NICK CAVE, and a multitude of musical artists in the acclaimed series PAID IN FULL: THE BATTLE FOR BLACK MUSIC; created two, strikingly artistic campaigns for G42 AI and MERCEDES F1 with drivers SIR LEWIS HAMILTON and KIMI ANTONELLI; and, also for G42, produced and staged the award-winning, large-scale, super-wide-screen SUPERCHARGED 2025 event in Abu Dhabi.

Job Summary

Supercollider is hiring a Creative to drive the creative development of live events and experiential projects, with occasional overlap into brand film and content. This role takes briefs and RFPs and turns them into clear, compelling, buildable creative directions that understand and respond to the client’s strategic needs. You will shape the experience narrative, key moments, show structure, and pitch story, then work closely with the Creative Director and production leads to ensure the work is ambitious and deliverable.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who can lead ideation, craft pitch narratives and decks, and collaborate tightly with producers, designers, and technical partners.

This hybrid role - based in London, but with clients in the Gulf Cooperation Council - is primarily focussed on event work of any form: our current focus is on the spectacular creative reinvention of corporate events which retain a strong sense of narrative within their content and format, but the work will expand into brand activation and entertainment events. It’s a rich mix of work that draws on culture and communication in all its forms.

Projects may include:
  • Corporate keynote and large-scale brand events
  • Multi-stage conference formats
  • Experiential activations and brand worlds
  • Hybrid live and broadcast content formats
Reporting line and relationships

Reports to: Creative Director, Supercollider

Works closely with: freelance producers, production management, design and technical partners, Zinc Media Group teams (as relevant)

May manage: freelance creatives and contributors on development teams (as required)

Working pattern and travel

Expected travel: approximately quarterly (Middle East), project dependent

Fast turnarounds are part of the role, including periods of high intensity around pitches and delivery

Key Responsibilities
Creative development and concept leadership
  • Creative response to briefs and RFPs, in partnership with the Creative Director.
  • Generate and develop event concepts, creative platforms, and experience narratives that are distinctive and brand‑right.
  • Provide clear recommendations, including options and trade‑offs, and articulate why a direction will land.
Event storytelling and experience architecture
  • Design experience structure including attendee journey, show flow, pacing, transitions, and key moments.
  • Create “moment maps” and headline moments that work on stage, on screen, and in the room.
  • Ensure live action, staging, and content behave as a single coherent system.
Pitch narrative and deck leadership
  • Development of pitch decks and pitch narrative, including writing, structure, and visual direction.
  • Coordinate inputs from producers and partners to ensure the pitch is consistent, feasible, and persuasive.
  • Maintain and improve reusable pitch modules, case studies, and credentials materials.
Feasibility and budget realism
  • Collaborate early with production and technical leads to validate feasibility, risks, and budget sensitivity.
  • Demonstrate a realistic understanding of how ideas translate into cost, complexity, rehearsal requirements, and delivery constraints.
  • Protect creative intent while making smart adjustments to keep concepts buildable.
Partner and team building
  • Identify and brief the right partner mix per pitch or project (design, motion, realtime, set, lighting, sound, showcaller, scenic, venues, talent).
  • Build and maintain a bench of trusted collaborators.
Growth support
  • Support the Creative Director with opportunity spotting and market awareness.
  • Provide pitchable points of view, references, and tailored hooks to help convert outreach into meetings and briefs.
Key outputs
  • Creative proposal documents (one‑page and expanded)
  • Experience narrative and rationale (“why this works”)
  • Journey maps, show flows, moment maps
  • Pitch deck and supporting materials
  • Visual reference world and tone guidance
  • Feasibility and budget‑reality notes aligned with production
Role success measures
  • Improved shortlist and win rate over time
  • Faster turnaround from brief to strong creative direction and deck v1
  • Pitches that feel premium, coherent, and buildable
  • Fewer late‑stage resets caused by feasibility or budget blind spots
  • Stronger partner bench and smoother development workflow
Experience & Skills
Essential
  • Proven creative development experience in live events, experiential, broadcast‑live, theatre, music events, or closely related fields.
  • Strong narrative and structural thinking, with the ability to design an audience journey and show flow.
  • Ability to ideate and steer creative development with clarity and taste.
  • Strong pitch craft: writing, story structure, and deck thinking (even if working with a designer).
  • Practical understanding of budgets and delivery realities, and how to design within constraints.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable presenting work internally and to clients when required.
Desirable
  • Middle East experience and comfort with client environments in the region
  • Music event or theatre background
  • Global brands experience
