Overview

HOURS: 8:00 – 3:50pm during term-time (39 weeks a year). On the occasions that you deputise for the Absence and Cover Officer, the hours will be 6:30am – 2:20pm and please note that this may be on short notice.

PAY SCALE: Scale 6, Points 18-20 (£33,142 - £34,138 p.a. actual salary) + honorarium

Responsibilities
  • The successful applicant will directly supervise classes and lead lessons during the short-term absence of teachers. The Cover Supervisor will give instructions for the work as provided by a teacher, with the primary focus of creating a positive learning environment, maintaining order, keeping students on task and supporting them to complete their work.
  • The other aspect of the role is to deputise for the Absence and Cover Officer. In their absence, you will manage systems and processes for staff absence and cover. You will also have responsibility for arranging and communicating day-to-day and long-term cover, including staff absence management, agency and supply coordination, room allocation and data reporting.
