Cover Supervisor - Aspiring Teacher

Location: SE2, South East London

Start Date: January

Contract: Full-time, term time

A welcoming and well‑organised secondary school in the SE2 area is seeking a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team on a full‑time basis from January.

This role is ideal for someone with strong classroom presence who is interested in gaining valuable experience in a secondary school setting, particularly for those considering a future career in teaching or education.

The Role:
  • Supervising classes during teacher absences across KS3 and KS4
  • Delivering pre‑set lesson plans and ensuring students remain on task
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Supporting students with their learning and responding to questions where appropriate
  • Ensuring a safe, calm, and productive learning environment
  • Reporting back to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and behaviour
The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Have experience working with secondary‑aged students (school‑based experience preferred)
  • Be confident managing a classroom and engaging students
  • Have strong communication and organisational skills
