Qualifications

  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
  • An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service.
  • Level 2 Safeguarding training.
  • At least two professional references covering 24 months of employment.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will confidently manage a classroom while delivering pre‑set lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of teaching staff. You do not need to be a subject specialist; however, you must be self‑assured, proactive and able to engage pupils, maintain focus and manage behaviour effectively to create a positive learning environment.

This role is well suited to graduates considering a career in teaching, teaching assistants looking to progress, or individuals with experience working with young people who are confident in leading groups and keen to make a meaningful impact in education.

Who We’re Looking for?
  • Confidence to lead a class and manage behaviour positively
  • Aged 18 or over
  • Supportive of students’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Familiar with core curriculum subjects
  • Experience working with young people (e.g. youth work, coaching, tutoring, school support) is desirable but not essential
