Overview

Cover Supervisor
Location: Nottingham (NG7)
Pay: 110 - 130 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, Term-time only
Start Date: Asap
Contract: Long-term with potential to become permanent

About the Role

Long Term Futures are working with an Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in the NG7 area of Nottingham to recruit a Cover Supervisor.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded school with excellent standards of behaviour, a strong sense of community and high academic expectations. The successful candidate will step into an active classroom role, supervising lessons in the absence of a teacher, ensuring students stay focused and engaged.

This role is well suited to candidates with classroom experience, or to graduates considering teacher training who want to build valuable experience in a school environment.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise classes and deliver pre-set work during staff absence
  • Ensure pupils remain on task and learning objectives are achieved
  • Promote positive behaviour and act as a role model for students
  • Collect completed work and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Respond to immediate issues or emergencies calmly and appropriately
  • Assist with wider school duties such as lunchtime supervision and school trips
What we\'re looking for
  • Degree-level education or relevant qualification (minimum GCSE English/Maths)
  • Experience working with young people, ideally in a school setting
  • Strong classroom management and the ability to create a purposeful learning environment
  • Clear communication skills and confidence in building positive relationships
  • Calm, adaptable and resilient approach when handling challenging situations
