A progressive educational institution in England is seeking a Cover Supervisor to support students during teacher absences. The role requires good interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to changing environments. We are currently looking for a flexible and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join our team, providing cover for absent teaching staff for both planned and unplanned absences.
You may already have some experience in delivering learning activities to students and may have some experience of working in schools. The successful candidate will have good interpersonal skills, and will be able to liaise confidently with staff, students and parents, as a positive and committed member of the Cover Team.
Hampton College employs Cover Supervisors to cover for absent teaching staff, which is successful in terms of consistency and managing student behaviour. You will cover for both planned absences, e.g. staff on training courses, and unplanned staff absences, e.g. sickness; and you may also be required to invigilate during examinations. All long‑term absences, e.g. Maternity Leave, will be covered by qualified teaching staff.
Where you’re not required to cover, you will undertake additional tasks at the discretion of your line manager, therefore a flexible approach and a can‑do attitude are essential requirements of the role. Candidates should be adaptable to able to respond to changes in working practices, with a willingness to respond to reasonable requests that go beyond normal routines, when required.
32.5 hours per week, term time only plus attendance at statutory training
8:15 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 45‑minute unpaid lunch break.
There may be an opportunity to undertake a paid Midday Supervision position alongside this role. If so, start and finish times may be adjusted accordingly and would be agreed in discussion with the successful candidate.
Full‑time salary (52 weeks / 37 hours) From: £28,598 to £32,061
Actual salary (190 days / 32.5 hours) From: £20,960 to £23,498
