Cover Supervisor - Chester Area

Location: Chester, Cheshire
Salary: £88.92 - £120 per day
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time

About the Role

Simply Education is seeking reliable, confident, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join a range of secondary schools in the Chester area. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and looking to gain valuable classroom experience—whether you're exploring a future in teaching, returning to the sector, or looking for flexible work around other commitments.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences by delivering pre-prepared lessons and managing classroom behaviour effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
  • Deliver pre-set lessons across a range of subjects
  • Maintain a positive, focused classroom environment
  • Manage student behaviour in line with school policies
  • Support students with questions about tasks and ensure they stay on track
  • Report back to the regular class teacher on student progress and any concerns
  • Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are upheld at all times

Essential Requirements
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Availability for flexible or regular work
  • Some experience working with young people (in school, youth work, coaching, etc.)
Desirable
  • Experience in a school environment
  • A degree or relevant Level 3 qualification
  • Aspiring teachers or those undertaking teacher training
