Overview

Prospero are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work within a school in the Cardiff area. The strongest applicant will have confidence in Mathematics, English and a subject of their choice whilst also working well with secondary school aged pupils and providing good behaviour management.

As a Cover Supervisor you will work in secondary schools covering classes and ensuring students are working on tasks whilst teachers are absent or engaged in other activities and meetings. This is a key role within secondary schools and almost every secondary school will engage cover supervisors to allow teachers.

This is a great opportunity to work on a flexible basis and gain experience within secondary schools.

Cover Supervisors are required for the full school day 8.30am to 3.45pm (approx.).

  • Hours: 8:00 am – 16:00 pm
Experience, training and qualifications
  • Teaching Assistant qualification or higher/equivalent (Desirable)
  • Previous experience working with young people
  • Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as some training is provided)
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional references
