Job description

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Hertfordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people and are interested in gaining classroom experience. Starting ASAP.

Duties as a Cover Supervisor:

  • Supervise whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain engaged with pre-prepared work.

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

  • Provide support to students to help them stay on task and complete work effectively.

  • Collect work at the end of lessons and provide feedback to teaching staff.

Ideal Cover Supervisor:

  • Previous experience working with young people (in a school, youth work, or similar setting) desirable.

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills as a Cover Supervisor.

  • Confidence to lead a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment.

  • Flexibility to work across different schools and year groups.

  • Degree or relevant qualifications are an advantage but not essential.
