Role

Barnsley secondary schools are looking to hire a cover supervisor starting ASAP. Do you have experience teaching secondary school age students? Have you previously worked as a cover supervisor?

MCE are currently looking for a resilient individual who has a passion for teaching and wants to develop their experience and build a career in education. Successful applicants will be supporting the continuation of education for students across Year 7 to 11 in the absence of their class teacher. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar setting teaching or leading groups, with the ability to lift from pre-planned and pre-set work provided by the class teacher or the subject's department. This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring teachers to gain experience and build on their classroom presence. The schools provide training to their staff, including supporting cover supervisors and unqualified teachers.

Responsibilities

• Support learning for students across Year 7 to 11 in the absence of their class teacher.
• Lead or assist groups of students as required, adapting to pre-planned and pre-set work.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and school leadership to maintain continuity of education.

• Experience in a similar role and environment.
