Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a high-volume catering environment.
  • Supervising Food Safety Level 3 qualification (desirable/working towards).
  • Previous Lead Chef, Sous Chef or production kitchen experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare 400-600 meals daily to a high standard.
  • Ensure all food is produced in line with HACCP and company guidelines.
  • Provide efficient and friendly service to customers.
  • Maintain kitchen and service areas to the highest hygiene standards.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Prepare 400-600 meals daily to a high standard and on schedule
  • Ensure all food is produced in line with HACCP and Sodexo guidelines, with accurate record keeping
  • Provide efficient and friendly service to customers during meal times
  • Maintain kitchen and service areas to the highest hygiene standards, completing all required documentation
  • Support the Chef Manager with buffets, functions, stock control and ordering
  • Assist with food preparation in the Grab & Go unit and Walmer House as required
  • Report incidents or customer feedback promptly, ensuring documentation is completed
  • Contribute to the training and development of junior catering team members
  • Play a key role in the smooth running of the catering operation
  • Proven experience in a high-volume catering environment
  • Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressure
  • Passionate about food and customer service
  • Supervising Food Safety Level 3 qualification (desirable / working towards)
  • IOSH Managing Safely or similar qualification (desirable)
  • Previous Lead Chef, Sous Chef or production kitchen experience
  • Knowledge of contract catering and staff training desirable
  • Professional appearance with a strong focus on hygiene
Compensation
  • 14.23 per hour
  • 12-18 hours per week
  • Shifts: (Shifts are: 1st week 12 hrs & 2nd week 18 hrs) 1st week Wed & Thurs & 2nd week Wed - Friday. Wednesday & Thursday 7.00am - 1.00pm & Alternative Fridays 7.00am - 1.00pm
