Aramark UK is currently recruiting a Cook in Bath, BA2 6EJ, to prepare home-cooked meals for those experiencing homelessness. You will assist in producing breakfast and dinner for residents daily, with the freedom to be creative and prepare different meals. This role is not fast-paced but focuses on quality and creativity, offering personal satisfaction and the chance to do meaningful work.
Our client is a Christian charity committed to meeting human needs without discrimination. The site offers services supporting addiction, mental health, homelessness, and individuals involved in the criminal justice system.
Due to the unpredictable environment, candidates should be strong-willed, empathetic, and accepting of people from all walks of life. The work can be challenging but rewarding, providing skills in de-escalation applicable in many areas of life.

Part-time position, 25 hours/week, over 5 days, including some weekends. Shifts between 7:30 am - 6 pm.
Hourly rate of £14, with double pay on Bank Holidays and overtime when applicable.

A day in the life of a Cook:
Preparing hot and cold meals, serving breakfast, main meals, and desserts in a canteen environment within a homeless lifehouse.
Managing catering assistants or KP’s.
Following or creating menus, with time for creativity in meal prep.
Serving at the hot counter, interacting with residents, and maintaining food safety standards.
Cleaning and adhering to health and safety protocols.
You will be set up for success if you have:
A relevant cookery/culinary qualification is desirable, but we consider candidates with at least 2 years of catering experience.
Food hygiene Level 2 is preferred but can be obtained online through our e-learning portal.
