You'll be working 40 hours a week at Cygnet Paddocks, creating an excellent experience for the people in our care. Working 4 days a week, Monday to Sunday (between 7am - 6pm) working times to be discussed at interview.

Cygnet Paddocks is our all male specialist neuropsychiatric hospital located in Widnes, in the North West. The service provides a dedicated care pathway for men affected by acquired brain injury or neurological conditions, where behaviours that challenge are the overarching impairment to recovery and rehabilitation.

You'll be working 40 hours a week at Cygnet Paddocks, creating an excellent experience for the people in our care. Working 4 days a week, Monday to Sunday (between 7am - 6pm) working times to be discussed at interview.

  • Prepare, cook & serve nutritional, balanced and appetising meals
  • Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients nutritional & dietary needs

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and Food Hygiene Regulations
  • Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
  • Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations

You are...

  • A skilled Chef/Cook who can work under pressure
  • Able to plan nourishing & attractive menus within available budgets
  • Minimum 2 years experience in hospital or care home setting
  • The holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards
  • SALT/IDDSI knowledge (Desirable)
  • Polite & professional, with a positive attitude to internal & external quests at all times
  • An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels
  • Able to work under your own initiative, as part of a team & under supervision
  • Qualified in catering to City & Guilds 706: 1 & 2 level or NVQ Level 2/3

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
