Job summary

A leading engineering firm based in Darlaston is seeking a Controls & Electrical Design Engineer to design and deliver advanced automation systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong AutoCAD Electrical skills and knowledge of PLC programming, preferably with Siemens or Allen Bradley. You will work closely with engineering teams to produce technical documentation and assist with commissioning. Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in electrical design within industrial automation.
• Knowledge of robotics or machine vision advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical panels and control systems using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Produce schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, and technical documentation.
• PLC and HMI programming and system integration for machinery.

Skills

Strong AutoCAD Electrical experience

PLC programming knowledge (Siemens/Allen Bradley)

Good understanding of machinery safety

The Role

Design electrical panels and control systems using AutoCAD Electrical

Produce schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, and technical documentation

PLC and HMI programming and system integration for industrial automation machinery

Support system commissioning and testing, both in-house and at customer sites

Work closely with mechanical, controls, and applications engineering teams

Assist with electrical build, fault-finding, and problem-solving during manufacture

The Person

3+ years' experience in electrical design within industrial automation

Strong AutoCAD Electrical experience

PLC programming knowledge. Siemens and / or Allen Bradley

Good understanding of machinery safety and industrial control systems

Logical, organised, and able to work to project deadlines

Knowledge of robotics or machine vision advantageous
