A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Project Engineer/Contracts Co-ordinator in the United Kingdom. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management with at least 10 years of experience. Responsibilities

  • Work with the Contracts Team to finalise order details, plan, execute, and finalise projects.

  • Ensure quality assurance processes are implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor track progress and handle any issues that arise.
  • Prepare and present reports on project progress, risks, and outcomes to management.
  • Work with production teams to achieve accurate delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Company Overview

Contek is working with a client in Huddersfield that provides a full subcontracting solution across engineering disciplines—from fabrication and machining to assembly and testing. Their highly skilled, apprentice‑trained workforce excels in precision manufacturing, fabricating, machining, assembling, and testing large specialist machinery.

They deliver innovative solutions for clients in the chemical, mineral, pharmaceutical, sugar and sweetener, laundry, processing, and geotechnical industries worldwide.

Position

The role is an experienced Project Engineer/Contracts Co‑ordinator on a permanent basis, 37‑hour day shift. Project manager, Project lead, Contract Engineer, Contract Co‑ordinator or Project Engineer titles would be considered.

Commercial Division Functions

The main functions within the Commercial Division are outlined below:

  • Share responsibility for, under the guidance of the CM, the efficient consistent performance of the Contracts team.
  • Guide, train & instruct those for whom you are responsible in the correct way & following good practice to manage contracts according to the Company’s procedures.
  • Supervise the contracts team to ensure that projects are handled effectively to the best outcome for the company and the customer.
  • Improve and implement a comprehensive cash flow report having this delivered and workable for all the contracts team.
  • Ensure records and data are updated weekly with liaison of the Commercial Manager.
  • Oversee performance management of delegates.
Duties

  • Working with production teams to achieve accurate delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Skills
  • Good communication – the role will require regular communication with management and members within the project team, customers and sub‑contractors/suppliers.
  • Organisation – the role will require someone who can multitask, effectively communicate project progress and maintain customer expectations.
Experience
  • 10 years experience in project management managing senior level business contracts.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
