Overview

Our client is a leading, multi-disciplined building-envelope contractor delivering complex roofing, cladding, and façade projects for some of the UK’s most prestigious main contractors and developers. With in-house design and fabrication capability, the business provides full turnkey envelope solutions, built on technical expertise, quality, and long-standing relationships.

The Role

As Contracts Manager, you’ll take ownership of multiple pitched roofing contracts across the UK, managing each project from handover through to completion. You’ll ensure every scheme is delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to the company’s exacting quality standards while maintaining strong client relationships and leading dedicated site teams.

Salary: GBP55,000 GBP65,000 + Car / Allowance + Benefits

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing project delivery from pre-start to completion across multiple roofing sites.
  • Leading and motivating site managers, roofers, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality work.
  • Acting as the main client interface, attending meetings, surveys, and progress reviews.
  • Overseeing procurement, scheduling, and commercial control in line with company processes.
  • Ensuring projects meet safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Identifying risks, driving performance, and promoting continuous improvement.
The Ideal Candidate

You’ll be a confident project leader with strong technical and practical knowledge of traditional pitched roofing systems. You’ll have managed teams, budgets, and multiple concurrent projects, combining technical ability with commercial awareness and a professional client-facing approach.

Requirements
  • 5–10 years experience managing roofing or building-envelope projects.
  • Proven expertise across slating, tiling, leadwork, and timber carpentry.
  • Excellent leadership, organisation, and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites nationwide.
  • CSCS or SSSTS certification.
  • Strong IT literacy (Microsoft Office; project management software advantageous).
Desirable
  • Experience with fully supported hard-metal systems (zinc, copper).
  • Previous responsibility for commercial or financial performance of roofing contracts.

  • Salary: GBP55,000 GBP65,000 + Car / Allowance + Benefits (DOE)
