Job Title: Contract Project Manager – Electrical Installations & Utilities Infrastructure

Location: South of UK – Various Locations / Flexible Site-Based & Remote
Contract Type: Fixed-Term / Project-Based
Duration: 6–12 months Outside IR35 with potential extension
Rate: £450 per day

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager on a contract basis to oversee the delivery of electrical installation projects within the utilities sector, including water and wastewater infrastructure. This role is ideal for a hands‑on contractor who can manage multiple stakeholders, ensure high‑quality delivery, and meet strict timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage electrical installation projects from planning, design, and procurement through to construction, testing, and handover.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, and resources, implementing risk mitigation where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical regulations, health and safety standards, and client requirements.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients and stakeholders, providing regular progress updates and reporting.
  • Support project close‑out, documentation, and lessons‑learned processes.
Requirements
  • Proven experience managing electrical installation projects in the utilities or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and installation standards.
  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing multiple contractors and site‑based teams.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline preferred.
  • Project Management qualifications (PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent) advantageous.
