The Consumer Safety function ensures all Essential Home products are safe and suitable for consumer use. It applies human and environmental risk assessments and communicates any issues impacting safety or regulatory compliance. We achieve this by reviewing ingredients, finished products, packaging, and articles throughout the product lifecycle to mitigate human and environmental risks. Leveraging toxicological and scientific expertise, the team enables innovation, drives safety by design, ensures compliance, and provides a competitive edge.
Our integrated Consumer Safety team partners with the business to deliver strategic technical guidance. Success requires a strong blend of scientific knowledge and commercial understanding to keep the consumer at the heart of everything we do.

This role sits within the Consumer Safety team, part of the Regulatory and Safety (RAS) function in R&D. You will prepare and deliver non-clinical regulatory documentation for Essential Home brands such as Mortein, Air Wick, Calgon and Cillit Bang. Working with experienced toxicologists, you’ll assess new and existing products to ensure compliance, accurate labelling, and acceptable exposure/risk levels.
Global in scope, the role involves partnering with safety colleagues to meet RAS objectives. A solid understanding of consumer product safety assessment is essential.
