This team plays a key role in delivering expert legal advice and managing legal risk, acting as trusted advisors to business areas offering regulated mortgage contracts and retail buy-to-let mortgages.

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality legal and regulatory advice across secured lending products.
• Acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on product development, proposition innovation, and simplification.
• Proactively identifying and assessing emerging legal and regulatory risks, ensuring these are clearly articulated with robust rationale and guidance.
• Supporting the business in navigating complex legal and regulatory challenges with practical and commercially sound solutions.
• Building strong relationships across legal, compliance, and business functions.

Qualifications

Applicants should be UK qualified, with a strong expertise in consumer product regulation. Additionally applicants should have gained experience in delivering pragmatic advice in an advisory capacity on product innovation and regulatory risk. Previous experience advising on mortgages or retail lending is preferred, however not essential.
