CONSULTANT STROKE MEDICINE VACANCY - MIDLANDS

We are recruiting 3 Consultants in Stroke Medicine for an NHS Trust in the Midlands, expanding their department. These appointments can be on a substantive or NHS Fixed Term Locum basis (salaried).

This NHS Trust is a newly built acute hospital with a rooftop helipad. It ranks in the top 20% of Acute Trusts in England for staff recommending it as a place to work and receive treatment. The city offers vibrant city life close to beautiful countryside.

Vacancy Details

The Trust is expanding its Stroke team. The department is a recognized Primary Stroke Centre with a focus on research, providing hyper-acute & acute stroke care, inpatient rehabilitation, early discharge support, and TIA services.

The Stroke Centre treats about 1400 stroke patients annually, supported by 7 Consultants, junior doctors, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and a multidisciplinary team including Stroke-specific Allied Health Professionals. The team benefits from a dedicated Neuroradiology team and a nationally recognized Vascular Radiology service.

The regional vascular surgery unit, co-located with the Stroke Centre, offers rapid carotid surgery. TIA clinics operate daily with 7-day vascular imaging and neuroradiology access.
