Job description

Consultant Physician with an interest in Respiratory Medicine

We have been assigned by one of the UK's prestigious NHS Trusts to help recruit a Consultant Physician with an interest in Respiratory Medicine, on either a Substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months, to join their successful Medicine department.

Our client provides general hospital services to a population of approximately 500,000, along with tertiary referral and specialist services to a larger population of 1.2 million. They offer flexible job plans and support development of specialist interests such as research, education, and teaching. The Trust aims to establish university hospital status soon. Notable milestones include top regional performance in the A&E 4-hour target, consolidated stroke services, early adoption of remote consultations, and consistent delivery of the 62-day cancer standard for lung cancer and other groups.

The department comprises 6 substantive Consultants and 3 locum Consultants. The appointee will support service development and undertake duties such as participating in audits, leading clinical governance, teaching and supervising students, and providing high standards of patient care. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and strategic planning are also expected.

The Trust offers excellent transport links to Birmingham, London, and two international airports, with access to vibrant cities, market towns, and villages.
