Opportunity

Working as part of askilful multi-disciplinary team, Head Medical are seeking a Consultant in Orthopaedic Surgery who specialises in Upper Limb Orthopaedics (Shoulder & Elbow) to come to work for a leading private hospital in the UK.

Considering candidates who are only interested in substantive employment.

Based in the town of Shepton Mallet, Somerset as part of this professional, friendly and compassionate team you will do everything you can to ensure the patient’s treatment is of the highest standard. This organisation focuses on ensuring that our patients receive high-quality treatment quickly, in clean and comfortable surroundings.

The town Shepton Mallet a few miles away from the Mendip Hills an area of outstanding natural beauty is perfect for those looking for a slice of tranquillity. Nearby cities of Wells and Glastonbury have high-ranking state and independent schools and the towns of Wells and Castle Cary have direct train links to London.

Responsibilities
  • The successful appointee will be required to perform orthopaedic surgical procedures and clinics on patients referred to the Hospital, including to note:
  • Private carpal tunnel syndrome surgery and treatment
  • Dupuytren’s contracture surgery and treatment
  • Ganglion cyst removal, treatment and surgery
  • Trapeziectomy surgery and treatment
  • Trigger finger release surgery and treatment

You will have the freedom to focus on delivering safe, evidence-based surgery without the distractions of acute admissions or trauma rotas, while also benefiting from a supportive and forward-thinking team.

Whilst a typical full-time working week will comprise 40 hours (8 PAs), working patterns will be flexible over primarily a Monday to Saturday rota.

  • Evidence of excellent clinical outcomes and a strong commitment to patient safety
  • A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary working and service development
  • UK registerable Medical Degree.
  • FRCS/MRCS
  • Wide training and experience in UpperLimb Orthopaedics
  • Experienced in large-volume joint surgeries
