An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic Consultant to join the Acute Medicine Department at University Hospitals of Derby & Burton NHS Foundation Trust. The post will be based at Queens Hospital, Burton.
The Acute Medicine Business Unit is proud to offer high quality clinical care within flexible and sustainable job plan structures. We positively encourage part time working or job plans split with other specialties. A number of our team operate in this way, delivering DCC in other medical specialties, including stroke medicine and Cardiology.

Our aim is to provide senior clinical decisions on patient care from the moment of arrival to discharge, with the minimum of unavoidable delay. We take pride in excellent patient care and that is why we are consistently scoring in high percentile for SAMs audit.
Further details of roles and responsibilities whilst fulfilling AMU shifts, standard operating procedures for AMU handover and unit operational standards will be reviewed during induction with the team for the successful candidate.
There is full 24-hour middle grade cover within the department and a proactive approach to further training and education is available.
