Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Legal business partner to Infrastructure and Procurement teams.
  • Provide legal support on construction and infrastructure matters.
  • Get involved in commercial incentivization arrangements.
  • Produce standard form contracts, precedents, and toolkits for the business.
  • Facilitate ongoing compliance with legal obligations.

Overview

We are seeking a Construction Lawyer to join our team and provide expert legal advice to our Infrastructure and Procurement teams. You'll be involved in a variety of exciting and challenging infrastructure projects that support Airport growth. This role would suit an experienced construction lawyer who is proficient in NEC forms of contract and also open to diversifying to support on supply chain arrangements in other areas of the business, such as Operations and Technology as and when required. While the focus is mainly on non-contentious construction work, you will also provide advice on post-contractual issues and potential disputes. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, flexible and willing to take on a diverse workload to meet the evolving needs of our business. Additionally, there will be opportunities to upskill in other areas of law as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as a Legal business partner to the Infrastructure and Procurement teams
  • Providing specific legal support on construction and infrastructure matters, utilising existing personal experience in NEC forms of contract
  • Getting involved in commercial incentivisation arrangements
  • Providing back up support to wider procurement as required
  • Producing standard form contracts, precedents and other 'toolkits' for the business
  • Producing easy to use guidance for the business to facilitate ongoing compliance with all relevant legal obligations

  • Strong and demonstrable experience in use of NEC form of contract
  • Experience of diverse aspects of contractual legal advice with a track record of completing successful transactions with a high level of personal involvement
  • Strong written, interpersonal and presentation skills
