Qualifications

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join the Infrastructure & Construction team in the Derby office. The role offers the chance to work on high-value, complex matters as part of a collaborative, award-winning department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting partners and senior lawyers with a broad range of Infrastructure & Construction work
  • Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision
  • Providing high-quality legal advice to clients in a timely and commercially sound manner
  • Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts and documentation
  • Engaging in business development activities, supported by senior team members
  • Building and maintaining strong, professional relationships with clients and third parties
  • Meeting individual and team billing targets and contributing to wider team success
  • Assisting with mentoring or supporting junior colleagues where appropriate
You

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with experience in Infrastructure and/or Construction law and a proactive, commercial mindset.

You will have:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor or CILEX with relevant construction/infrastructure experience
  • A solid grounding in both contentious and non-contentious matters (or strong knowledge in either)
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under pressure
  • A collaborative and professional approach, with a desire to grow your legal career
  • Confidence in developing client relationships and working with a range of stakeholders
  • A positive attitude, keen eye for detail, and the drive to make an impact
