Job summary

A leading construction recruitment agency is seeking a Construction Buyer to manage procurement for multiple construction projects in Teesside. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience, excel in communication and negotiation, and have a solid understanding of construction materials. The position offers a salary between £35,000 and £45,000, along with benefits like holiday and pension support.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a construction buying role.
  • Willing to travel to sites and suppliers; driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase construction materials and subcontractor services.
  • Build effective relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate rates, discounts, and terms.
  • Forecast material needs and plan deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Review specs with engineers and propose alternatives.
  • Raise POs and maintain procurement data.
  • Resolve invoice queries and monitor market trends.
