Job description
Concierge – Malmaison

Rate of Pay / Hours: £12.50 per hour plus generous company benefits, training & development / 40 hours per week. Type of contract: Permanent. Location: Oxford.

Responsibilities

Being a concierge combines customer service & front‑of‑house with driver & valeting duties. You are the first impression for our guests… Welcoming our guests as they arrive outside the property, assisting them with their luggage and taking responsibility for parking their cars is just the start. You will interact with our guests as much as, if not more than, any other team member. You will set the tone for their stay at Malmaison and must be passionate about hospitality, delivering amazing service with a big smile.

Working as part of the front‑of‑house team you will assist on check‑in and check‑out and escort guests as they start their stay. Local knowledge is an advantage as you will be asked for directions to the nearest attractions and the history of the hotel. Booking tickets or recommending places to eat – no guest needs to worry as you will be on hand to assist.

A full clean driving licence is required for this role. Progression into a front‑office position is available for the right candidate.

  • Healthcare cash plans – dental, optical, medical and more available from £5 per month.
  • Referral schemes that pay up to £1 500 (just for getting your mates jobs!).
  • A decent uniform that doesn’t make you look like an extra from a 1970s TV sitcom.
  • A wellness & national campaign days calendar that promotes and encourages activities such as payday lunches/treats, national popcorn day, mental health awareness week and more.
  • Access to Wagestream – instant access to your pay as it’s earned, with real‑time tracking, up to 50 % of earnings streamed, money‑management tips and salary‑savings features.

  • We are a proud sponsor of the Brain Charity, helping people with neurological conditions lead longer, healthier, happier lives.
  • Employee assistance programme – free, confidential advice available 24/7 to you and your family.

  • We use a chemical‑free cleaning system in bedrooms and public areas and an enzyme‑based eco‑friendly system in kitchens.
  • Volunteer to work for sustainable charities 2 days per year on full pay instead of normal workplace.
