Job description

Are you passionate about ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence? We're looking for a Compliance Manager to join our team and take ownership of compliance across the AWC estate, including stations, offices, and leased areas. This role is critical in ensuring adherence to legislation, regulations, and standards, minimizing risk to the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage fire safety arrangements, including risk assessments, training, and consultancy.
  • Maintain and update Fire Management safety procedures in line with legislation and best practice.
  • Oversee contracts for fire risk assessments, fire systems, and extinguisher maintenance, monitoring KPIs.
  • Chair Fire Safety steering groups and related meetings.
  • Manage the mandatory EICR 5-year programme to ensure legal compliance.
  • Conduct M&E audits to verify statutory and non-statutory compliance, reporting risks and closing actions.
  • Support projects from design review to handover, ensuring compliance documentation is complete.
  • Provide technical advice on statutory compliance to internal stakeholders.
  • Review and maintain Water Policy for stations, implement annual audits, and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with Network Rail to ensure repairs and renewals maintain safety and integrity.
  • Contribute to AWC's Environment and Sustainability Strategy.
  • Act as an authorised signatory for design reviews and Landlord Consent Applications.
  • Participate in safety and asset failure investigations, producing professional reports.
