We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Care/Support Worker to join our dedicated team, supporting a remarkable individual with Cerebral Palsy in the Rossendale area! This is far more than just a job – it’s a chance to make a real difference each day by helping our client live life to the fullest! Alongside clinical care tasks, you’ll support them in enjoying a range of enriching activities such as hydrotherapy, sensory exploration, and creative crafts. You’ll be part of a friendly, person-centred team where no two days are the same. (You will be working as part of a small team on a 2:1 basis.) A full clean driving licence is essential and you must be able to drive the clients motability vehicle.

Hours Available:

  • PA 1: Average of 22 hour per week – Week 1 Monday 11:30am-5pm, Tuesday and Thursday 12:30pm-5pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am-3:30 (27.5 hours) Week 2 Tuesday 12:30-5pm, Wednesday 11:30am-5pm, Sunday 9am-3:30 (16.5 hours) Week 3 Monday, 11:30am-5pm, Wednesday 11:30-5pm, Thursday 12:30pm-5pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am-3:30 (28.5 hours) Week 4 Monday, 11:30-5PM, Tuesday 12:30-5pm, Wednesday 11:30-5PM, (15.5 hours)
  • PA 2: Average of 20 hours per week – Week1 Wednesday and Friday 11:30am-5pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am-3:30 (24 hours) Week 2 Monday 11:30am - 5PM, Thursday 12:30am-5pm, Friday 11:30-5pm (15.5 hours) Week 3 Tuesday 12:30-5pm, Friday 11:30-5pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am-3:30pm (23 hours) Week 4 Thursday 12:30am-5pm, Friday 11:30-5, Sunday 9am-3:30pm (16.5hours)

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face‑to‑face sessions, practical training, clinical training and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis, to keep your knowledge and skills current.

Who we are looking for:

You must be self‑motivated, well organised, reliable and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we’re seeking Care / Support workers with experience of:

  • Gastronomy care and administration of prescribed feed, fluid and medication
  • Tracheostomy care to facilitate ventilation
  • Having a clean, full driving licence is essential (There is use of a wheelchair accessible vehicle)
  • Personal care, including incontinence pad changes and measures to maintain skin integrity
  • Moving and Handling (including hoisting)
  • Health crisis activity monitoring and administration of rescue medication.
  • Domestic duties (Food prep, laundry, cleaning)
  • Support to travel to appointments, and participate in social activities including swimming.
  • Monitoring of general health and well being, daily record keeping as such.
You should also have:
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness
