Job description
Community Safety Officer

We are looking for a Community Safety Officer to join Wirral Council's busy 24‑hour/365‑day Emergency Control Centre (ECC) as part of the council's commitment to community and public safety.

The ECC operates a state‑of‑the‑art enterprise‑grade 24/7‑365‑day CCTV control room integrated into Merseyside Police and linked via Airwave radio. Other duties include deploying to public safety incidents, proactively and reactively attending anti‑social behaviour and crime locations (including deployment of a CCTV van), auditing public rescue equipment and water‑safety signage, and providing a security presence at council meetings. Officers also support local communities as a visible presence, providing reassurance, advice and guidance.

Officers will work closely with internal colleagues and external partners including Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service and HM Coastguard.
