Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our Intermediate Care Rehabilitation Therapy Team based within the East Dorset Locality.

Role: Provide Physiotherapy treatment to patients with acute illness to prevent unnecessary hospital admission, facilitate complex discharges, and support patients with Long Term Conditions. Predominantly working within the community but may need to work on ward within the local Community Hospital. Requires a valid UK Driving Licence and access to a car.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Physiotherapy assessment and treatment to people in their own homes, care homes or on Community Hospital wards, dependant on Locality.
  • Deliver high‑quality person‑centred care considering safety, privacy and dignity.
  • Specialist care and interventions, assessments, treatments and management of patients on a caseload within multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of patients/service users.
  • Devise specialist programmes of care for other professionals to deliver and ensure they are delivered appropriately.
Qualifications
  • Registered practitioner to degree/diploma level supplemented by post‑registration diploma level specialist training and/or short courses or demonstrable extensive experience in the relevant specialty.
  • Member of the relevant Professional Body.
  • Evidence of recent professional development in an up‑to‑date portfolio.
  • Current valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Learning and Assessing in Practice Qualification or equivalent practice assessors training (Desirable).
  • Non‑Medical Prescriber (Desirable).
  • Knowledge and understanding of Trust Strategy relevant to role (Desirable).
Experience
  • Experience at Practitioner Band 5 level (Essential).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of assessment and therapeutic interventions in area of specialism (Essential).
  • Specialist clinical reasoning skills to assimilate information and make clinical judgement (Essential).
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively (Essential).
  • Recent previous experience within a comparable role (Desirable).
  • Experience of managing change (Desirable).
Managerial/Supervisory Experience
  • Providing clinical supervision and mentoring to junior staff (Essential).
  • Devising and delivering training (Essential).
Personal Qualities
  • Planning and organising complex activities, organise own time and that of junior staff and learners, discharge planning involving coordination with other agencies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of legislation relevant to practice.
