Overview

Community Mental Health Occupational Therapist needed in London for a locum position. Band 6 level. Pay £22-£26 per hour. Start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver occupational therapy assessments, interventions and outcome measures relevant to the client group within community mental health settings.
  • Apply specialist knowledge of OT practice and contribute to care planning and outcome monitoring.
  • Advise and support / supervise junior staff and students as required.
  • Utilise and promote risk assessment and risk management principles in clinical decisions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care in the community.
Qualifications
  • Mandatory:
    • Registered Occupational Therapist (HCPC)
    • Clinical experience in Mental Health settings
    • Substantial post registration experience as an OT
    • Advising and supporting / supervising junior staff and students
    • Detailed knowledge of the principles of risk assessment and risk management
    • Specialist knowledge and application of OT assessments and interventions and outcome measures, relevant to client group
  • Desirable:
    • Forensic experience
    • Experience of working with people with challenging behaviours
    • Post-registration qualification in related area (mental health, clinical skills, coaching/ supervision)
    • Training or education related to the care of older people
